About the app
Scream O’ Clock is a rotation scheduler for haunted house crews. It shows which worker is On Set, Off Set, or On Meal for each 20-minute slot on a show night, and can schedule local reminders when it’s time to rotate.
What we don’t collect
The app does not collect, store on our servers, or share:
- Your name, email address, phone number, or any other personal identifier
- Your location
- Usage analytics, crash reports, or advertising identifiers
- Contacts, photos, or files — except attachments you deliberately add to feedback (see below)
We do not sell, rent, or trade any data, because we don’t collect any in the first place.
Data stored on your device
The app keeps the following information locally on your device only:
- Display settings — your selected role (A/B/C), label format, and view preferences
- Today’s schedule — the slot assignments for the current show night and whether alarms are armed
- Anonymous ID — a random, meaningless identifier stored in the device’s secure storage. It is generated on your device, contains no personal information, and is used only to tag feedback submissions (see below)
All of this is deleted if you uninstall the app or clear its data. Because it never leaves your device, we cannot recover it.
Schedule data
Slot assignments for show nights are fetched read-only from a hosted database (Supabase). These requests are anonymous — no account, identifier, or device information is attached — and the app only reads schedule data. It never writes anything back.
Notifications & alarms
When you tap Arm Alarms, the app schedules local notifications at each rotation boundary so it can remind you even when the app is closed. Scheduling and firing these alarms happens entirely on your device. Nothing is sent to us or to any server. You can disarm alarms at any time in the app, and revoke notification permission in your device settings.
Feedback
The app includes an optional feedback form powered by Harken. Feedback is the only situation where information leaves your device, and it only happens when you choose to submit it:
- The message you write
- Optionally, a photo or file you attach (the app requests camera or photo library access solely for this purpose)
- The anonymous ID described above, so submissions can be grouped without identifying you
If you never submit feedback, nothing is sent to Harken.
Third-party links
The settings screen links to the developer’s Ko-fi page for optional donations. Opening it takes you to a third-party website governed by its own privacy policy.
Children’s privacy
The app is intended for haunted house crew members and is not directed at children under 13. Since we don’t collect personal information from anyone, we don’t knowingly collect any from children. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the feedback form, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
Data stored on your device is protected by your device’s own security, and the anonymous ID is kept in the platform’s encrypted secure storage. Connections to the schedule database and feedback service use HTTPS.
Changes to this policy
If the app ever changes how it handles data, we will update this page and the effective date above, and reflect the change in the app store listing.
